Stragari is the place located on the slopes of mountain Rudnik, at the average altitude of 250m, about a 34km from Kragujevac, and it’s surrounded with Pavitlija and Garevica peaks. Rivers Jasenica and Srebrnica run through Stragari, and there is also a lake available for the fans of fishing. The whole area of the mountain is suitable for hiking. A very rich and highly valued hunting ground is located in this area. It is also fit for different activities of active vacation, like, plant and herb picking, cycling and paragliding. Voljavca Spa, where princess Ljubica was treated, is also situated in Stragari, and it’s surrounded with beech forest. The average water temperature is 24°C. A monument to Tanasko Rajic, a flag bearer of Karadjordje, is located in the center of Stragari. A famous water mill “Cicic” is on the river Srebrnica. Every year, on the day of St. Ilija, the manifestation “Sumadijski dani sljive” (days of plum) is being organized, along with the traditional fair. Sports memorial “Dusan Milosevic” has also become a traditional manifestation in Stragari, held each year in honor of a member of the first Serbian Olympic team that went to the Olympics in Stockholm in 1912.
Vlakca is located on the slopes of the mountain Rudnik, 25km from Kragujevac. This livestock and fruit growing village with the beautiful nature and pure air, is famous for the manifestation “Days of opened patios” and Mihailo Petrovic, who was the first Serbian pilot and a victim of aviation in Balkan wars, born in Vlakca. Velike Pčelice is a mountain village on the slopes of the mountains Gledić, the second largest in the city, located 17 km from Kragujevac. It has a school, church, cultural center, agricultural cooperative and a clinic. In the village there are three medieval monastery Denkovac, Raletinac and Sarinac. Drača is the village that occupies a position on either side of the road to Gornji Milanovac, on the eighth kilometer west of the city. On the border of the villages of Drača, Divostin and Male Pčelice there is the geographic center of Serbia. In the valley of Dračas river, between Bogosavljević and Rujevica hills Drača monasteryis built , an important cultural center Šumadije in 18th and 19th centuries. Since ancient times Drača is known as the vine-growing area, so nowdays in the village ther are still a lot of planted vineyards. Kutlovo is a small village, on the road to Gornji Milanovac, 15km away from Kragujevac. There are numerous monasteries near the village, as well as cultural and historical monuments, forests, glades etc. There are excellent conditions for an active vacation.
Petrovac occupies northeast position towards the city, the direction of the road Kragujevac-Topola. Petrovac is an old Lepenica settlement, built in the Middle Ages, on the foundations of the destroyed Roman city. Kuline is the archaeological site in Petrovac, where there are remains of the fortifications. Through the village runs Petrovačka river, the largest tributary of Lepenica. The village has a school. Memorial fountain in Petrovac is dedicated to soldiers killed in the wars from 1912 to 1918.
Novi Milanovac is a village in the plains (altitude 213 m) 12 km from Kragujevac. It has a forthgrade school, cultural center, agricultural cooperative. Association of Women of this village has preserved the tradition of preparing traditional Šumadijan dishes. Preserved are the old oak, while the wild pear iz zapis (inscription). The village has a potential for development of hunting tourism (hunting small game).
Mala Vrbica is located 25km from Kragujevac and it gives great opportunity for an unforgettable vacation in Sumadija. Grošnica is located on the slopes of Gledić mountains, with houses along the river basin Grošnica. It is 10 km away from Kragujevac.
